What is a Life-Cycle-Celebrant? Life-Cycle-Celebrants are deeply knowledgeable about the history and
meaning of rituals and ceremonies across cultures. They are skilled
at crafting highly individualized ceremonies, will serve as a calming
and caring guide throughout the preparation phase, and can act as an
officiant at your ceremony. Celebrants are passionate about their
work and offer their heart, mind and energy to each client and to each
ceremony.
Why Choose a Celebrant Rather
than a Judge or Justice of the Peace?Working with a
celebrant gives you the freedom to be creative. There's no "boiler
plate" script and no obligatory ritual format. The entire event will
reflect your choices and your taste: Your ideas, your traditions, your
beliefs and symbols will be carefully woven together into a beautiful
living tapestry that reflects your loving intentions and commitment.
What if We Want to Include a
Minister, Priest, Rabbi or Pundit in the Ceremony? Your ceremony can be
secular, spiritual or religious. Thus, a celebrant will be happy
to collaborate with a member of the clergy in designing a ceremony that
is uniquely personal to the participants, and also includes the blessing
or other participation of their chosen spiritual leader.
What about Other Life Events?
Do Celebrants Craft Other Kinds of Ceremonies? Assuredly yes! Baby Welcomings,
House Warmings and milestones such as birthdays or anniversaries,
promotions or retirements, graduations or coming of age, are among
the joyful events that warrant a ceremony.
Many celebrants, myself included, are
also available to assist you during your most difficult times, with
end-of-life ceremonies, funerals and memorials.
Thus, it often happens that, over
time, the members of a family will call upon the same celebrant to
assist them in commemorating both their times of joy and their seasons
of sadness.
