Together, We Create Your Ceremony

Shortly after you contact me, we'll meet for a complementary consultation.  You'll tell me your story - something about each of you as an individual and about the special realm that you share as a couple or a family. We'll begin to think broadly about your ceremony and about your vision of how it might eventually look. We'll discuss finances. Ceremony fees are individually determined according to the number of people involved and the complexity of the ceremony. Travel expenses may be added for distant locations.  I can also be flexible if there are serious budgetary constraints. 

If you decide that we'll be working together, we'll sign a contract and you'll give me a deposit amounting to half of my fee for planning and officiating at the ceremony. You'll receive an ample selection of readings and vows to consider, any of which you can use or modify as you wish. The fee balance will be due by check two weeks before the ceremony, or in cash on the day of the ceremony.

I'll prepare a first draft of the ceremony script and we will exchange subsequent drafts until you are absolutely satisfied. You have the final right of approval over all aspects of the ceremony and you will receive a copy of the final version in advance of the ceremony date.

We were so pleased with the ceremony Roberta wrote for us! Neither my husband nor I are very religious, and we wanted our ceremony to be spiritual and genuine but not overly sentimental. When we met Roberta, we knew almost immediately we had found the right person (we'd met with 3 other officiants before) - she was very calm, warm and reassuring, in person and during our wedding planning process. Developing a ceremony with her required very little effort from us (a good thing as the last couple of months leading up to our wedding were very hectic). We responded to a questionnaire from her and then met with her in person; then she wrote a terrific draft that needed only a few tweaks. Her rates are very competitive compared to those of other officiants we met.
